Holden appears to start his story in a bitter way, to set the scene of what's going to be an upsetting telling of his past. In these first few chapters Sallinger shows the way Holden communicates and thinks of people around him example: 'phonies' is a negative approach to the people around him. He holds a very negative view of prency  prep, but .............................to be continued!
