chapter 25 Holden feels so damn happy

Near the end of the chapter Holden takes phoebe to the Carousel, Where he sees her enjoying the happiness of Childhood whilst he is so indulged in this happiness he didn't care he was getting soaked in the rain he was so damn happy. This shows Phoebe's freedom in a sense because she gets to go on the carousel twice and she chooses the same horse each time which makes Holden even happier. He also ends his quest of escape during this occasion he returns to his real identity after a few sulky and dreary days in central New York, he seems to understand things in a more mature way, he realises a life without people who love him (even if they may be lousy) is worth nothing and heart warming moments with Phoebe help him understand this .

  1. Good. What do you make of the imagery of the carousel?
